Deadline for CRP 2009 in 10 Days
Planning on taking the CRP exam in San Diego? The deadline for the early registration for our review seminar is March 31.

Over the next two years PreCheck will be moving their corporate headquarters from Houston to Alamagordo, NM bringing 250 jobs.

Sign of the Times

I was reading the local newspaper today and there was an article about Sykes Enterprises which was totally contrary to some of the news we have seen on almost a daily basis--somewhat. Seems that several years ago Sykes opened a call center in Minot, N.D. which employed 200 individuals. Their business was going so strong that they needed another 450 individuals to staff the call center. Here came the rub, the unemployment rate in Minot is between 1-2 percent. They could not find anyone to fill those slots so they are closing the call center.

Manpower Employment Outlook
The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey of global hiring trends released today reveals that the overall pace of hiring is set to slow further in the second quarter of 2009. The survey, conducted by Manpower Inc., shows that employers in only 13 of 33 countries and territories still expect positive hiring activity in the coming quarter; however, those in 27 say they will slow the pace of hiring from three months ago. Year-over-year hiring forecasts are also weaker in all 33 countries and territories; and employers in 23 countries and territories are reporting the weakest hiring plans since the survey was established there by Manpower.

Modern Medicine is reporting that there is a shortage of urologists in the United States which is causing both hospitals and practices to increase their benefits to attract candidates including relocation.
